Set up your Healthy Raw Food Kitchen
– High Speed Blender
It’s your first and foremost piece of equipment and the most required gadget for raw food recipes. It’s great for making super smooth smoothies, nut/seed milks, soups, desserts, sauces, anything. One of the most expensive gatgets you’ll need but it’s worth every penny. Major brands are Vitamix or Blendtech.
– Food Processor
is used for making chunky sauces, cakes, cookies and our beloved banana ice cream. You can start with a cheap food processor before investing in a more costly one. Magimix, Cusinart, Kitchen Aid.
– Juicer
A juicer is essential for optimal health. A Centrifugal Juicer is a cheaper and quicker option, it also extracts less juice and cannot extract wheatgrass. Most common juicers sold on the market are centrifugal. Cold Press Juicer gently compress fruit and vegetables to ‘squeeze’ out their juice. While more costly, their slower and more thorough extraction rates produce a higher-quality juice, and more of it.

– Measuring cups, spoons
– Oven Thermometer
– Grater
– Vegetable peeler
– Mandoline slicer
Really cheap and really handy. Great for making thinly sliced vegetable noodles. Really useful to speed up cutting procces … etc.
* Spiral Cutter or spiralizer
( simple and useful ) must have for fun, spiralizing many vegetables into noodles. Cut carrots, zucchini and other raw veggies into noodles and/or slice/dice/julienne/shred them decoratively.
*Raw Food Dehydrator
It’s not only useful to make crunchy activated nuts and seeds, to make comfort foods such as crackers, breads, cookies, it expands your creativity and useful to warm up raw mains, make your own dried fruits, recycle juicing pulps to turn into wraps and crackers. Major brands are Sedona and Excalibur.
( I mention the dehydrator last for a reason. Focus first on blended raw soups, dips, salads,and snacks … These foods will get you into the day-to-day habit of raw food diet. The rest of the more complicated raw food culinary experiments will follow ).
