It will change the way you think about food
The food you eat can affect your health and your risk for certain diseases. To eat healthier food , you may need to change some of your daily habits ( a new, healthy habit or breaking an old, bad one can be difficult but it’s really, really worth it ). “….. habits can change your life …..” – We’ve all heard this saying at least a hundred times, but most of us don’t realize how true it is this simple fact.
♡Dominion – ‘Dominion’ is the feature-length documentary sequel to 2014’s Lucent. While Lucent focused mostly on the Australian pig farming industry, Dominion will have a much broader scope as a comprehensive account of the numerous ways animals are used and abused in Australia. By exploring six primary facets of our interaction with animals – Companion Animals, Wildlife, Scientific Research, Entertainment, Clothing and Food – the film will question the morality and validity of our dominion over the animal kingdom.
Drawing heavily from the Aussie Farms Repository so as to contain the most recent, highest-quality footage from across the country, Dominion will also make use of emerging technologies, such as aerial drones, to capture new perspectives and examine the wider context of animal exploitation upon our landscape and within our society.

♡ What The Health – Following the success of Cowspiracy, filmmakers Kip Anderson and Keegan Kuhn took it upon themselves to show that veganism is good for our bodies, as well as the planet. What the Health explores the many benefits of a vegan diet and exposes the reluctance of health and nutrition organizations to point out the negative health effects of consuming animal products.

♡Cowspiracy – The Sustainability Secret is a groundbreaking feature-length environmental documentary following intrepid filmmaker Kip Andersen as he uncovers the most destructive industry facing the planet today – and investigates why the world’s leading environmental organizations are too afraid to talk about it.
Animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation, water consumption and pollution, is responsible for more greenhouse gases than the transportation industry, and is a primary driver of rainforest destruction, species extinction, habitat loss, topsoil erosion, ocean “dead zones,” and virtually every other environmental ill. Yet it goes on, almost entirely unchallenged.

♡ Food Inc. – this will be the most important, perspective-altering documentary you’ll ever digest. This film will not tell you what to eat. This film will tell you what you’re already eating and that’s even worse. The film examines corporate farming in the United States, concluding that agribusiness produces food that is unhealthy, in a way that is environmentally harmful and abusive of both animals and employees. Helps to understanding the importance of local farming and where your food is truly coming from.

♡Earthlings – Because Earthlings is packed with graphic footage of violence against animals, many vegans refuse to watch it. At the same time, most will still consider it to be essential viewing for anyone who might use or consume animal products. For curious meat-eaters who seek the truth about the industries they support, or vegans who wish to know (and feel) the full reality of humanity’s brutality toward the other animals, Earthlings is required viewing. In this sense, it may be the number one must-watch vegan documentary.

♡ RAW the Documentary – Jon-Michael Mooney, the Sydney based filmmaker and Director of ‘RAW -the Documentary’, believes that Janette and Alan’s message can transform the way we look at our diets, resulting in disease prevention, clarity of mind, a huge increase in energy, as well as leading people to a more ethical and compassionate lifestyle.
“Alan Murray and Janette Murray-Wakelin are two phenomenal human beings. They broke and set world records by running around Australia (366 consecutive marathons) during 2013 whilst in their 60’s. Most people would cringe at the idea of running one, let alone 366! And they did this after Janette beat cancer, all of this on a raw vegan diet! Janette and Alan are an incredible example of what is possible with the human body.”
“This documentary will inspire people to make more conscious decisions about their health and lead them towards a more ethical way to live. It is a positive and inspiring message that has already touched thousands of lives, and it has the possibility of inspiring change that will make a difference to the health of all living beings and to the health of the planet. Let’s create a kinder and more compassionate lifestyle for all living beings and a sustainable future for our environment and the planet.”

♡ Fed up – Everything we’ve been told about food and exercise for the past 30 years is dead wrong. FED UP is the film the food industry doesn’t want you to see.The film focuses on the causes of obesity in the US, presenting evidence showing that the large quantities of sugar in processed foods are an overlooked root of the problem, and points to the monied lobbying power of “Big Sugar” in blocking attempts to enact effective policies to address the issue.

♡ Forks over Knives – follows the research and personal journeys of nutrition scientist Dr. T. Colin Campbell (The China Study) and surgeon Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn. Campbell and Esselstyn independently came to the conclusion that abandoning the American diet and maintaining cholesterol levels well below those historically recommended by health policy experts on a plant based diet can prevent and even reverse heart disease and other illnesses.
There is no doubt that the ‘western’ diet characterized as highly processed, animal product rich, sugary, fatty and salty is bad for our health. It’s spread is closely followed by a huge rise in the incidence of obesity and several “western” chronic diseases such as heart disease, hypertension and type 2 diabetes.

Food Matters mentioned the Gerson Therapy in the movie – Food Matters. I have never heard of this therapy which is named after Dr. Max Gerson and is a vegan anti-cancer diet therapy which requires about thirteen glasses of fruit and vegetable juice a day and coffee enemas for its patients. Gerson believed he found the cure to cancer with this treatment not just one type but several different ones.

♡ Super Juice Me – the world is facing a “pandemic” of chronic disease – heart disease, diabetes, cancer, obesity, asthma, kidney and liver disease, Alzheimer’s, autoimmune diseases, allergies and skin conditions and many, many more. This year more than 36 million people will die from degenerative conditions – more than from all other causes put together, and that number is expected to rise to over 50 million within 15 years. At the same time, the amount spent trying to treat these diseases with pharmaceutical drugs is expected to rise by 50% to more than $1.2 trillion!
What if all of these diseases were actually caused by just one thing, and the remedy so cheap and easy to obtain that you could buy it with your weekly shopping? What if this remedy was so safe and effective that you didn’t need to visit a doctor to get it prescribed; and in fact you might not need to take any other medication ever again? What if this remedy was so simple yet so revolutionary that it could destroy the foundations of two massive industries whose entire economic existence is based around keeping us unhealthy and addicted to their products?
One summer Jason Vale took eight people who collectively suffered from 22 different chronic diseases and put them on his ‘Juice Only’ diet for 28 days. Could these different diseases with their many different prescribed drugs be improved and even cured by one thing? Maybe it’s time to get Super Juiced!

♡ Taste The Waste – why do we throw away so much food and how can we stop this kind of waste? Amazing but true: On the way from the farm to the dining-room table, more than half the food lands on the dump. Most of it before it ever reaches customers.

We don’t live in a perfect world but we can do our best to make adjustments toward a healthier one. I found several inconsistencies / contradictions throughout these movies but I think we can all agree that consuming fewer animal products, eating more plants, and reducing our exposure to environmental toxins is the healthier way to go.
