The Ubud Organic Market operates two times a week at two different locations. Open every Wednesday from 9am to 2pm at UFC Tebesaya and every Saturday from 9am to 2pm at Pizza Bagus (Jl.Raya Pengosekan, Ubud No.108) To read about the story behind the market and market members, please have a look their website
You can find there a wide selection of seasonal fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, seeds and nuts. Coconut oil, nut butters, cacao powder, cacao nibs, loose leaf herbal teas, Balinese Jamu, Kombucha (from Chef Arif – Djamoekoe), vanilla/cinnamon/ginseng flavoured and Oh, so aromatic Bali coffees. You can also buy chemical-free household cleaning products, Bio soap aka Soapnuts from Aroma Bali (which is my personal favorite). Soapnuts are an amazing fruit containing natural soap compounds. Can be used for a variety of purposes: from washing clothes, dishes and cutlery to wash hair, skin and face. Antiallergen, antibacterial, eco-friendly, cheap and reusable. Soap nuts can be used completely and then composed for a no-waste solution.
Balinese herbal remedies and all natural beauty products includes essential oils, balms, soaps, facial and body scrubs, deodorants, shampoos, and the list goes on.
NOTE: The market discourages the use of plastic bag so take your own bag when you going to shop there.
For today, I just want to share these pictures and let the photos do the talking. Please, enjoy;)
