Hello beautiful souls, how are you today? I’m so excited to share this recipe with you today! Quick, easy recipe made with just a few simple, clear ingredients. It uses almonds, oats, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds, poppy seeds , raisins and fresh lemon juice.
I make pretty much everything from scratch every day, including my breads, buns, rolls, crackers … I don’t want to buy stuffs like the store bought breads because they have about a million different ingredients, most of which I have no idea what they even are. That’s when these homemade buns come in handy (these are THE BEST burger buns ever!) and you won’t feel bloated and gross after these! Yep, you heard me right. Let’s talk about these buns because I’m just sooo excited to share them with all of you. First of all this burger buns recipe is super tasty. The buns come out light, soft and with just the right flavor. It will take a few hours, start to finish but most of that time is dehydrating time, so when I say easy, I really mean easy.
This recipe makes enough dough for 3 buns.
Ingredients:
1+ 1/2 cup almond meal
3/4 cup ground sunflower seed
2 tbsp ground chia seeds
1/4 cup flax seed meal
3/4 cup oat flour
(grind the whole almonds, flax seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds and gluten-free rolled oats into fine flour by using a high speed blender and it’s dry jug)
2 tbsp raisins paste
(blend 1/4 cup raisins with 1/4 cup filtered water until smooth)
2 tbsp poppy seeds
3 tbsp filtered water
juice of 1/2 lemon
1/8 tsp salt
Combine all the ingredients in the food processor fitted with the S blade and
process until well combined. Divide the mixture into 3 equal portions, use about a handful dough per buns and now, start forming small buns. Place in the dehydrator and dehydrate at 140°F for 2 hours. Decrease heat to 115°F and continue to dehydrate about 8 hours. Store in an air tight container in the fridge for 3-5 days. Before eating warm them up in a dehydrator. Enjoy!
